Back in Havana - We really didn’t want to leave Las Terrazas, it was so pretty and scenic and the hotel was lovely, but we had to head back to Havana for a very exciting final day. We’d already explored some of Old Havana on our first day, but our orientation walk of the tour of the Old Town have us a much better context. Stopping in the beautiful squares of Plaza de Armas, Catedral,Vieja and San Francisco, we could admire the beautiful architecture and find out more about the history of the city.

Our fellow travellers on the Cuba Libre adventure. Stopping in the beautiful squares of Plaza de Armas, Catedral,Vieja and San Francisco, we could admire the beautiful architecture and find out more about the history of the city. We then had the chance to explore on our own, find a WiFi hotspot and prepare for our big night out.

A quick run across Revolution Square for a photograph with the monument to Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara and Camilo Cienfuegos (more of these later).

Classic Car tour along the Malecon, in my opinion one of the must do activities if you visit Havana. The classic cars are a legacy of he pre revolution days of 1959. The cars are scattered across the city and on the Friday evening we had the chance to drive along the Malecon (sea wall) to Revolution Square in one if these classic cars (I’ve no idea what it was but it was yellow and convertible) It was so much fun with the wind in our hair, the reggaton blaring, the back seat dancing and the landscape to admire - a great memory of Havana.

The excitement didn’t stop with the Classic Car tour. Our last stop on Friday evening was at the famous Buena Vista Social club. The original club was established in 1996 to help revive the pre revolution music scene from the 1930s. The music was fantastic and there was even one more opportunity for dancing.

Saying adios to our tour guide Yazel.
